10 things that’ve made me happy this week!

Teddy-at-the-pub

That there is a photo of our dog being super well behaved in a pub! For the first year of Teddy’s life, Jason and I always used to feel secretly envious of people who could take their dogs with them to pubs and cafes and restaurants. We just couldn’t ever imagine there being a day when our hyper spaniel would be calm enough for us to actually relax if we brought him with us anywhere! But he’s settled down so much over the past few months that when we brought him with us to the pub on Wednesday, after a quick wander round our table looking for forgotten scraps of food, ¬†he actually lay down and fell asleep whilst we ate! And we felt so very smug the whole time!

We’ve had a really, really lovely week. Jason’s birthday was so much fun (as was taking a midweek holiday day!), the autumnal weather is food for my soul, I got to do an extra Body Balance class, and we’ve eaten two different types of cake. TWO! Here’s what else has made this week a lovely one…

1. Watching the steam spiralling from the top of a cup of tea, whilst listening to the rain outside.

2. Knowing ALL the words to T Swift’s Shake It Off. I never ever know the lyrics to songs, so this is quite an achievement for me! ;)

3. Playing board games with Jason’s family on Wednesday evening. I suck at board games, but it was still so much fun!

4. Fresh coffee in the mornings.

5. Burning Anthropologie’s Double Latte candle. It smells SO good!

6. Looking out of the window in front of my desk and seeing all the leaves turning colours outside.

7. Piling on layers during the daytime. There’s something about having three cardigans and a jumper on all at once that just makes me so very happy ;)

8. New red tartan cushions for the living room sofa!

9. A truly delicious fig, prosciutto, goat’s cheese + walnut salad.

10. Breakfast in bed for Jason’s birthday on Wednesday morning! I did offer to make Jase pancakes, but since he’s on a health kick at the moment he opted for granola with yoghurt instead. I really just wanted to put a birthday candle on top of a pancake stack, so made do with poking one into the middle of a bowl of raspberries instead ;)

I really love these posts that you do. And I think that they’re such a good idea especially in making you appreciate the good things which almost always outweigh the bad.

Beautiful dog too. So happy that he chilled in the pub – there’s really nothing better than a pub dog! Meryl x

We took my little cocker spaniel to the pub and I kid you not, she went to the toilet, on the floor. We were so, so embarrassed! Poor little thing was sniffing around as well but we were busy ordering our drinks, so it was our fault really! I never know whether dogs actually enjoy the pub or not, or whether they hate it because they spend most of their time having to sit in silence under the table!

Look at Teddy all sleepy and beautiful-looking! He’s adorable.

The fig/prosciutto salad sounds delicious and YES to knowing T-Swizzle’s new song! I’m obsessed with it at the moment haha xx

Teddy is so cute. Those eyes are enough to melt any heart! We occasionally take Leo to the pub but he just wants to say hello to everyone and struggles to settle down, plus he is ALWAYS hungry and wants to eat our food. xxx

Teddy is adorable. I long for a dog myself, but your gorgeous photos of him kind of help make up for me not having one yet!! Have a lovely weekend :)

I loved the jumper/cardigan thing – it makes you feel so snuggly and separated from the whole world! Also, I love Body Balance as well – I was talking with a friend today about how people tend to think it’s not really a workout, but I’ve become a lot more flexible since doing it regularly. I hope the coming week is even lovelier for you! xx

Sounds like you have had a lovely week. Much like you I am loving the turn to Autumn. Cold crisp dog walks in the morning, and getting to wear new jumpers and layers!
I also got my first comment on my blog from a non friend – who is now a friend! I have been blogging for a while but never really looked for readers, more looked at it like an online diary. So it was lovely to wake up and see that little notification!
Hope you have a nice weekend.

What has made me happy this week? The weather, most definitely the weather and being able to wear jumpers and jump in the many piles of leaves with youngest and oldest :-)

I started my own 10 things that’ve made me happy in a notebook and it’s my favorite thing to do! To share a few with you; I spent Monday morning on my balcony under the sun with wet hair. Feeling this autumnal sun on my skin felt so good! Also, this week I noticed that the colors have changed and it is officially autumn in Budapest! Song wise Taylor Swift’s cover of Vance Joy’s “Riptide” is the best thing ever! (His album was also a great discovery for me!)

Aw, Teddy is so cute! It must be so nice to be able to bring him to pubs and such. I really want to get my hands on a few autumnal/wintery candles. That Anthropologie one sounds amazing!

Number 1 is the BEST. Add a blanket to the mix too and why would you ever want to move? x

I have never been a big Taylor Swift fan, but Shake It Off is sooooo catchy! I think it’s awesome she’s doing such a positive song too, instead of another romantic ballad.

Gorgeous dog, and so well behaved! I’m not sure what our dog would be like in that situation- probably a bit of a wimp actually, she’d want to sit on our laps not sleep in a strange environment! Your one about steam coming out a cup of tea is something I related to, it’s always the little things isn’t it? Curling up in bed with a steaming hot chocolate, a scented candle flickering and catching up with Strictly Come Dancing made me so content this week.

What a handsome chap Teddy is :)

This week I got to indulge my inner pop princess and went to see Kylie Minogue in Birmingham which was a great show all round, but by far the bext part was her 80s medley where she sang I Should Be So Lucky from a bathtub in the centre of the stage. Everyone around me was up on their feet, singing and dancing and having so much fun – it was fantastic. Definitely my top happy thing for the week!

I’m jealous of Teddy’s calm behavior! Our shepherd has a really tough time with those types of situations.

OMG – that face!!! What a sweet four-legged friend you have. :) I wish restaurants and pubs here in America were welcoming of our little friends like that!

    Have a great weekend,
