In a few week’s time, this will be me…

Christmas-tree-illustration Illustration by Inslee. Isn’t it darling? Thank you to Brooke for providing me with the source!

I’m pretty much on a count down until it’s time to go and find a little Christmas tree to come home and live with us over the holiday period. We’ll pile on our layers, pick up some hot chocolates, and head out to the garden centre in search of the Perfect Tree. Every year I get anxious about halfway through the tree-hunt that we won’t find one with a perfect shape, and start fretting that maybe we should just take the one we discarded a few trees back in case nothing better comes along. Jason’s always *very* patient with the process, and we always do end up finding that Perfect Tree.

We also need a couple of new sets of tree lights this year, which is a perfectly perfect excuse for me to take a trip into the decoration department of our garden centre. Jason usually steers me away from there pretty sharpish, after that fateful time he gave me his credit card and sent me out to buy decorations for our first Christmas in our house, and I wracked up a bill larger than what we usually spend on groceries in a month. I wish I was kidding. But not as much as Jason does…

p.s. Did I already tell you about that, sometime last Christmas? Still, confession’s good for the soul, right?

hahaha oh you make me laugh!! This year I made the excuse that because I’m around & we’re spending Christmas in England, we’re allowed to put up the tree before december the 1st….whether that’s actually gonna happen or not is a mystery. I just can’t fricking wait – my favourite holiday EVER xxxxx

I’m decorating the day after Thanksgiving, no one can stop me! I too have a patient boyfriend while I veto all the christmas trees, set a couple aside, and give glares to people that eye up my pile of maybes. Some say crazy, I say appropriate for the perfect tree.

This year will be the first time I get to decorate my OWN tree. After gap year, uni, travelling, moving three times, etc, I finally get to buy an decorate it. I’m SO excited. Got some new Christmas tree decorations for my birthday from Ikea and they are gorgeous. You should all check them out! My favourite garden store will be receiving Christmas trees tomorrow, so excited to find the perfect one!! xx

We usually go all out for Christmas too – my house has been compared to Vegas in the past because of all the lights! I love it though, so calming sitting with a fire and twinkling lights. Hard to believe it’s almost Christmas again!! Oh, the image is by Inslee Haynes –

I am soooo excited for Christmas! Here in the States we kind of have an unwritten rule that we’re not to have trees or decorations up before Thanksgiving (shops ignore this rule), but I CANNOT wait! I don’t know, I can just feel the holidays in the air more than ever this year! – Leith

Eee exciting! We cant have a real tree as we have a real fireplace and it’ll just dry it out, but I still love getting our faux tree out of the attic every year :)
