when jason and i first told family and friends that we were planning to get a puppy, the vast majority of of people said the same things…

‘you’re mad!’
‘puppies are so much work…’
‘you do realise you’ll have to walk it every day right?’
puppies are a huge commitment, you’ll be so tied down!’
we knew that these things were only said out of concern for us, but the negativity very nearly put us clean off the idea! why don’t people ever tell you about the absolute unbridled joy and loveliness that a pup can bring to your lives? :)
for example, on sunday jason and i took ted up to the lake, and met up my godparents and their handsome dog freddy. the weather was glorious- crisp and bright, and all the colours looked extra vibrant. we walked a good long way round the lake (though ted’s little legs aren’t up to a full lap yet!) and then sat down at the little outdoor cafe for coffee (for the ‘grown ups’!) and hot chocolate (for me!;)
it was a perfect autumnal day, all rosy cheeks and muddy paws and bundling up in layers. that’s what having a dog is all about, and it beats the early starts, standing in the cold waiting for ted to ‘do his business’, and having to vacuum on a daily basis hands down, every.single.time.

…just as much as his ma does!
this past week the leaves have really started to fall heavily into our garden, and ted’s been making the most of it. he’s been jumping into big piles of leaves, pouncing on them as they fall, and ends up with them stuck to his paws, face, and his little puppy butt.
this little man- he’s just so adorable :)

bluhhhhhhhh. i feel dreadful. headachy and sore throaty and sniffly. if someone would like to volunteer to come round and supervise mad puppy, that would be just super. a word of warning- he’s going through the puppy equivalent of the terrible twos. i was napping on the sofa last night, and was woken up by him jumping on my HEAD.
if you fancy giving the kitchen floor a clean whilst you’re here too, feel free. i’ll be in bed, with a lemsip. thanks :)

well hi!
i’m sorry it’s been such a long time since i’ve written! someone really needs to teach my ma how to share, because she hogs the laptop like you would not believe. she’s under the impression that the reason i’ve learnt how to jump up on the sofa it so i can get closer to her. it’s not. i just want some time with my favourite toy. i finally managed to get my paws on it the other day, but there was an unfortunate mishap involving the ‘f’ key, and one of my claws. whatever. noone likes ‘f’s anyway…
now, i just wanted to clear something up for you all, before ma gives you her side of the story and i’m painted as some sort of reprobate puppy. was it a crime for me to have very helpfully picked up a sock that she had dropped yesterday whilst unloading the tumble dryer? was it so terrible for me to have waited so nonchalantly with it in my mouth as she walked towards me, and then darted off with it at the last minute? i mean come on, playing chase is fun!
i think she could still just about see the funny side of things, right up until she put the sock on this morning and found the ginormous hole that i’d chewed in its heel. but it’s alright, i did my best ‘aren’t i a dear little pup ooh look at my feathery ears and waggy tail’ act, and she fell for it…just like she does every time ;)
bye!
