The Indian Summer Dress.

You know something? Indian summer days always leave me feeling just the tiniest bit put out.

‘You had your chance, summer!’, I always think, when September strikes and brings with it warm weather and blue skies. The trip you made into the loft to fetch down coats at the end of a grey and rainy August now seems pointless, and you wind up switching outfits three times a day to keep up with the changeable temperatures.

There are benefits though, to such unseasonable (and unreasonable, if you ask me…) warmth. The chance to dance about in floaty dresses with bare legs being one of them!

This little yellow spotted number is my newest and most loved wardrobe addition, for more reasons than I can count. The feminine shape, the light, flowing skirt, the beautiful colour contrast of yellow against grey- I’m struggling to find reasons to take it off, at the moment.

But given that I’m certain it’d look just as lovely with thick knit tights and some ankle boots, I don’t think I’ll need a reason, anytime soon…

I love a good braided up-do – gorgeous hair style! I dread to think how many kirby grips you had to use! x

I love the dress – yellow and grey is my favourite colour combination and you wear it beautifully. The shoes and your hair are perfect as well – such a great match. It’s going to be in the high 20s-low 30s this week in Toronto and all I want it some nice, crisp Autumn weather.

Now excuse me while I go catch up on all your latest posts!

Indian summers are the way of life here in San Francisco, but usually after an insanely chilly summer. I’d totally live in this yellow dress – so pretty, and I’m sure it works for so many different occasions!

I agree! This dress would look fab in the autumn with the overall muted grey tones. The spots of yellow Will totally fit in with the changing colours of the leaves:)

Love how you’ve styled this dress Rosie, the greys and beige tones are a great match for yellow – definitely could see it working well in Autumn :)

I’d never have looked twice at that dress in the Boden catalogue, but you have styled it so well – it looks beautiful. Your hair, too, is lovely!
