The past few days in numbers, + some photos from the weekend!

The past few days have been equal parts intensely joyful and sociable, and also kind of stressful too. The weekend was such a fun one (we met up with so many lovely friends and entertained our families for dinners and breakfasts at our house) but since Monday we’ve had a poorly old dog after he went in for his ‘op’. We found quite the most stomach-churning sight when we¬†woke up and went down to Teddy this morning…I’ll spare you the details, but suffice to say that he’d had a pretty violent reaction to his anaesthetic, and that we’ve now all lost our appetites. He’s on the mend though, thank goodness, and only has to wear his (pink!) cone of shame overnight! Here’s what else has been going on, over the past couple of days…

2 :: the number of times our sweet baby nephew fell asleep in my arms at dinner on Saturday night, and made my broodiness ramp up 100-fold ;)

500+ :: minutes spent cursing the moment I decided to update my MacBook software, which has entirely ruined my laptop’s battery so that it now dies the instant I unplug it from the charger cable now. Sigh.

6 :: eggs cracked to make meringues + lemon curd for dessert on Saturday evening.

8.30 :: the time I wake up every weekend morning at the moment, because my body has kind of forgotten how to sleep in late.

1/2 :: a bar of Rocky Road chocolate demolished with my love Freya in Covent Garden on Sunday afternoon, whilst discussing bridesmaid’s dresses and colour schemes and all those other fun things.

15 :: faces put to names, when having dinner and drinks with a group of lovely bloggers at Polpo later on that evening.

2 :: iced lattes drunk out in the sunshine at our lovely local garden centre.

12.45 :: too late a bedtime for a Sunday night, really.

1 :: elderflower martini drunk with relish {+ 1 delicious plateful of arancini & calamari}

4 :: beautiful dresses dresses tried on by my beautiful bridesmaids, and 2 dresses settled upon as ‘The Ones’.

20+ :: times I thought how lovely it is to be in London on a Sunday, when the city is calm and quiet.

Photos, from the top ::
1. Hotel Chocolat neon signage {I quite agree with the sentiment}.
2. Salted caramel hot chocolate {entirely underwhelming}, English Breakfast tea, + a slice of tasty lemon drizzle cake.
3. The wait for my train into London.
4. A {relatively} quiet Covent Garden.
5. A slab of chocolate that was here one minute, + gone the next.

p.s. For those who asked about my boots, they were from Office last Autumn, but this pair is almost identical! :)

    Poor old Teddy! And I guess poor you and Jase this morning! Yack! Was super duper meeting you and all the other bloggers! 12:45 is a late bed time but worth it, I didn’t even have a cup of tea when I got home just straight to bed! And I agree, any salted caramel hot drinks I’ve had have been very underwhelming, perhaps I’ll try making my own at home! x

    Loved this post! Massive shocker, my laptop has been doing that too. It’s so frustrating, I have to keep saving everything repeatedly. Just in case. If you find out how to fix it, please let me know. So far I’m just hoping for another update!

    Have a great week.

    I really enjoy these little summary posts, I’ve not tried one myself, but I think I might have to. Salted caramel hot chocolate, that sounds good! It’s such a disappointment when it’s not as good as you think.

    Poor Teddydog. Poorly pets are just the most heartbreaking thing, even when they’re gross. And I’m super jealous of your bloggy meetup at Polpo – one of my favourite places, with one of my dream scenarios! One day I hope to be able to meet up with fellow bloggers in that kind of setting! I hope you have a lovely week!
