I ‘rediscovered’ this little black silk dress right at the end of last summer, when it was really too chilly to make much use of it. I’d bought it on a whim at the end of my first year of university, back when I had way too much time on my hands and a student grant that was just crying out to be spent. Now that I’ve got a whole lot less time on my hands and a salary that’s just crying out to be put into a savings account named ‘The Wedding Fund’, I’m kind of grateful that my past self thought to buy such a cute and entirely versatile dress.
It’s oh so very comfortable (I mean, it’s essentially just a fancy nightdress, so that’s hardly a surprise) and is quickly becoming my favourite thing to wear on warm days. And you can bet your bottom dollar I take that belt clean off after every meal, and let the magical floatiness of the dress work its full stomach-hiding wonders.
