Four-beautiful-quotes-for-happy-living

1. ‘Don’t put off your happy life.’ {a reminder that we should try to pursue happiness, in some small way, each and every day.}

2. ‘The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.’ {so very true of my own life, this far.}

3. ‘Good things take time.’ {for the days when nothing’s happening quite quickly enough.}

4. ‘A strong marriage rarely has two strong people at the same time. It is a husband and wife who take turns being strong for each other in the moments when the other feels weak.’ {I love this idea, and think it applies to all relationships, not just a conventional husband-and-wife marriage. And I think it’s an important concept to be shared, because sometimes it’s easy to believe that a relationship should be as easy and 24/7-happy as the ones we see on TV, or on blogs, or Instagram, or in magazines. Jason and I describe it as us either ‘floundering or floating’ as opposed to being ‘strong or weak’ (because the words strong and weak are so very heavy, and don’t allow for many permeations), but the principle still rings true to us.}

    I love all of these, but particularly agree with the last – I feel so blessed to have a wonderful relationship with my man where we completely balance each other out (and I’m still amazed at my ability to stay calm when he’s less so!)

    What a beautiful and very inspiring post for a Wednesday morning – and Lord knows, sometimes I need it.

    I really love all of these but number 1 seems to be my motto, conscious or unconscious for this year so far. Taking ownership and taking things into my own hands to achieve what I want (even though I still don’t really know what that is) is very satisfying most of the time. Thanks Rosie, for making this weary Wednesday a little brighter :) x

    #4 is so good, I also love the way you worded it, floundering & floating seems much kinder than strong & weak.
    Thanks for sharing :)

    These are lovely :) all of them ring true, especially the second one for me. For the last few weeks I’ve been with friends all the time and mostly at the beach and just little moments where we’re sitting on the beach enjoying the sun mean the most to me. Or cuddling up with my housemates watching Dexter. I’m gonna get emosh now cos everyones leaving and I’ll miss them ohh x

    Great quotes, I especially love number 2. Too often I think we focus on being happy in the future and the big things we’ll accomplish but the best moments I have are when I’m laughing with my boyfriend and friends.

    Ah, so wonderful! I love having thoughtful and inspiring quotes around to perk me up when I begin to take things for granted. I actually just did a DIY on how to make coasters of your favorite quotes, so this would be PERFECT.

    Cheers <3

    How lovely of you to post such inspirational, lovely quotes! They seem to come around at the perfect time when you just need a bit of a pick me up. I especially like the second one. It’s very true of my own life as well and I’m trying hard to savour these smaller, special moments :)
