‘We should’ve just gone with that first one we found’…

Christmas-tree-shopping Christmas-trees

‘No. It’s too bushy at the bottom…Too many bald spots…Too straggly up top…Too skinny in the middle’

‘Those people are trying to poach our trees. Don’t put any more trees down. How many can you carry at once?’

‘Ugh. That’s horrible. Who would buy that?…Oh. Those people just there…’

‘How about that one over there, like on the other side of the patch?’

‘That couple over there have got really good tree-finding luck. Let’s follow them and get whatever one they decide not to buy…’

‘That first one we found really was the best wasn’t it? Do you reckon it’s gone now? Shall we go back and look for it?’

‘We’re never going to find one! I’m tired, let’s just give up now.’

‘None of these trees are as good as last year.’

‘Don’t get stroppy! We’ve nearly managed a whole tree-buying day without getting stroppy.’

^^ Every. single. year. ^^

But we found a tree, and she’s perfect! And we still love each other!

This post made me giggle. A true representation of every couple at Christmas. I think you need to put the conversation up that takes place during the tree decorating, that’s always a cracker :)

Hee hee. Me and Russ are so decisive it’s brutal. Every time we buy anything, from a Christmas Tree, to a sofa or even a kitchen, it goes like this:
    “That one’s crap.”
    “Yeah. It’s crap.”
“Oh look – let’s get that one.”
    “‘Kay.”
(Sometimes if it’s a huge purchase we then go “We’ll just scoot round the rest of it and check that’s the best one.” Then we return to the best one and resume, the process as below.)
Then we buy it. Then we leave.

Haha! It’s most like you’ve followed my husband and I round with a dictaphone. This is exactly how our tree hunt goes down every year. But it’s always worth it! We’re getting our tree next weekend and I can’t wait. A day of decoration, mulled wine and festive tunes. Brilliant!!

    Merry Christmas!

This made me giggle all the way through! My tree last year was lovely, a little stumpy and so bushy it was just perfect for us. I’m hoping to have the same luck this year when we go get one tomorrow. My issue has always been our cat. I think I re-decorated 4 times last year. I can’t wait to see what yours looks like! xo

So true! You two are adorable <3 Real trees get sad and floppy so quickly here with a summer christmas. I wish we had the smell of pine in our living room again though
