1. The ritual of coffee making. Preparing the espresso maker. Heating milk. Listening for water to begin to boil, and start filtering its way through the coffee grounds into the top compartment of the pot. The pattern the coffee makes when mixing with milk. Letting half of the espresso go cold, and setting it aside for a late afternoon iced latte. I’m cheating on tea with coffee right now, and it’s really quite exciting.
2. My phone miraculously repairing itself overnight! It’s still smashed to smithereens, but the camera autofocus is now working again, as is the whole once-defunct right hand side of the screen! I am truly thankful to be able to type the letters ‘i’ and ‘m’ again!
3. Dancing with Jason in our pyjamas, just before going to sleep the other night. He also had me stand on his feet and dance, since I’d never done that before. He’s so wonderful.
4. Putting on my dressing gown first thing in the morning. And also slippers.
5. Watching Ted play so sweetly with my cousin’s children. He’s always so gentle around little ones, and it makes my heart ache to see.
6. Oatcakes. Why on earth did I ever stop buying them? So delicious, *and* wheat free! Also, the brand new jar of pickled cucumbers currently sitting in my kitchen cupboard. I’m preeeeeetty excited to break open those babies, let me tell you!
7. Sweet comments from darling readers. I don’t think it’s even possible to express how affectionate I feel towards everyone who takes the time to read here.
8. That beef and ale stew. I know I’ve already talked about it a hundred times on here, but quite frankly, it deserves the press. That stew kicked the butt of every other meal I’ve ever cooked, ever.
9. The prospect of pancake making this weekend. I just decided we need a pancake morning, so a pancake morning we shall have. Now, to buy maple syrup…
10. Buying new winter gear. It’s bobble hat central round here at the moment…
What’s made you happy this week? Let’s share! :)
