Sidmouth-beach

I know I said I wouldn’t be posting until Tuesday, but I just can’t help myself.

Sidmouth beach was beautiful yesterday afternoon. Stormy and moody, with the sort of waves that could send you right off to sleep.

I’ve not been to a beach in the UK for years and years, and right now I can’t think why. There’s nothing quite like a trip to the beach, is there? Next time we’ll bring Ted with us, so that he have his first taste of seawater and a frolic in the waves.

Well good morning!

We drove down to Devon late last night, and are right now getting ready to go off to Jason’s colleague Caroline’s wedding! We’ve not been to a wedding yet this summer, and so we’re pretty excited about this one! :)

Brother Joe has moved into our house for a few days to look after Ted whilst we’re gone, so I’m expecting to come home to one very exhausted, muddy, and happy dog!

Have a wonderful long weekend everyone, and I’ll catch you on Tuesday!

Nishaantishu-sunsetPhoto by the wonderful Freya, from Nishaantishu. It’s doubled my longing to visit Canada again.

1. Nighttime rain. Listening to it patter whilst falling asleep is the best.

2. Porridge with rhubarb and ginger compote, and fresh peach slices.

3. Walking with Ted, and watching him bound up to his dog-friends. So cute :)

4. Noodles with teriyaki chicken, carrots and mangetout. In fact, just noodles in general. The other day, Jason and I were trying to remember what on earth we used to eat before my Asian food kick began?!

5. Seeing Ted love his cuddly sheep toy. It’s his favourite favourite thing, and he carries it around with its little tail in his mouth. The cuteness is unbearable, I tell you! ;)

6. Pinterest! I always have a little love affair with Pinterest as the seasons change, and now is no exception. In fact, I’ve had to ban myself from going on there during the workday, or else I find myself losing hours at a time to that cyber blackhole…

7. Reading ‘Atlantic Pacific‘. Pure Carrie Bradshaw-esque escapism.

8. Reading ‘A History of English Food’, by Clarissa Dickson Wright. History AND food combined? It’s the most perfect book ever!

9. Making DIY plans. In the next month or so I’m planning to do a blitz on both the guest bedroom and our bedroom. I might buy some overalls, just to get into the spirit of things ;)

10. And lastly, watching the Great British Bake Off of course! I’m rooting for Ruby. She seemed so anxious this week, and I so want her to do well!

Tell me, what’s made *you* happy this week? :)

…my name’s Teddy, and I’ve got the pearliest whites around. Aren’t I handsome?’

Teddy-smile

Jason took this snapshot of Ted at the office the other day, and I love it so. Can you believe this little man of ours turned one year old at the beginning of the month? And that it’s been almost a year since we went to meet him for the first time, and he looked like this? I swear time flies faster when you’re watching a little one (either animal or baby!) grow up. I was watching Ted eat his breakfast this morning (he won’t eat unless he’s got company, because that dog does like an audience) and whilst he ate his tail was wagging non-stop. His never-ceasing cheeriness is just so infectious.

I’m currently (STILL!) trying to convince Jase that we need/could handle another one, and that we should breed a litter of pups from Ted. Wouldn’t that be the cutest, to have Ted and his son or daughter as our little family dogs?
