Have you ever heard of that old saying that in order to keep a tidy home, you should never leave a room empty handed?
The idea is that if you always leave a room taking with you something that doesn’t belong there and return it to its rightful place, you home will always stay tidy and well organised.
I’ve been working hard on being tidier over the past couple of months, but still have a long way to go. I have a dreadful habit of completing tasks (getting dressed, making tea, baking, working on my laptop etc.) and as soon as I’m finished, walking away leaving behind the detritus (discarded clothes, spoons, ingredients, cables etc.) without even a backwards glance. It’s bad!
So this week I’m going to try my hardest to keep to the rule of never leaving a room empty-handed, and hope that it helps me to slow down and take the time to keep our house tidy.
Do you have a resolution you’ll be trying to keep to in the week ahead? If you fancy sharing your own Monday resolution on your blog, please do go ahead! I’d just be grateful if you’d include a link back to my post in yours, so that we can share the love around :) Happy Monday, everyone!
