After our walk round the lake yesterday, Ted and I stopped for a paddle in the water. You know those moments that are so lovely they make you wish you could just freeze everything, and enjoy them as long as you fancy? Well, this was one of them. I seriously could’ve stood there all day, watching the fish swim round my feet and feeling the sun on my shoulders. I like to visit Virginia Water during the week, when it still feels like a bit of a secret. At the weekends it’s so crowded, but during the week? I can pretend it’s just mine.
Other lovely things that happened yesterday:
- The pollen count was much lower, so Jason and I managed to get a good night’s sleep for the first time in about two weeks. Also, we slept under just a sheet and when I woke up, I felt like I was on holiday. Do you get that feeling too? I think it’s because I only ever sleep under just a sheet when we’re on holiday. It was another one of those moments I wish could’ve lasted longer. Yesterday was just full of them!
- Freckles. So many freckles.
- Ted played in a makeshift paddling pool in the garden, and looked happier than I’ve ever seen him.
- I ate the last of the super ripe peaches we’ve had this week, and it was the best. A juice down the the elbow kinda peach. Might have to pop to the garden centre for another punnet today…
