Cider-with-Rosie-Italian-pizza

Last night, we ordered in pizza to celebrate the launch of the new blog, and also just because, you know, laziness…

When I phoned up our local Domino’s and placed my order, I was like ‘Blah blah blah two greasy cheese covered disks please (or thereabouts)…’My partner will collect them when they’re ready’

The guy on the phone replied ‘Will that be Jason coming to pick them up?’

Umm…

If that’s not a sign we need to move to a new town, or at least stop ordering pizza from the same place all the time, I don’t know what is.

Seriously though, how embarrassing? Almost as embarrassing as the time we had the same pizza delivery guy turn up twice in the same week. I made him look into our shell of a kitchen and acknowledge that the reason we were ordering so much pizza was because we had no oven/sink/electricity. Jase told me off for being a psycho after that.

I’m having a weird deja vu feeling, that maybe I wrote about this on the blog before? Blog amnesia…

Anyway, how was your Monday? :)

Our pizza place knows what we’re going to order as soon as we walk through the door so I feel your pizza shame. haha.x

Haha! I know the feeling- we ordered exactly the same thing everytime we have a chinese, and have been using the same chinese for about 5 years now. Once they asked if I’d forgotten anything because I usually order spring rolls and wontons (we were trying to cut down but failed) and they know my address and phone number by heart… Since we moved away I wonder if they ever think of us! xx

Haha, this made me laugh! Our local Chinese do the same! When we phone up and give our order they say ‘Is that Miss ‘surname’?’ So funny, but so shameful! Did you end up ordering the spring rolls and wontons anyway? ;)

Rusty used to live very near a curryhouse when he was at Uni and his housemate and he would frequently order late-night curries. One night when he rang, about half-eleven, they picked up the phone and after he said Hello, they said “Ah yes, hello Mr Hammond. We are very pleased to have your business but please no more ringing for delivery at five minutes to midnight. Please, no Mr Hammond.” Hee hee. Think he was a bit embarassed! Takeaway shaaame.

haha, this reminds me of a about 5 years ago, Dave and I used to get pizza from one place so often that whenever we walked in they’d just say ‘the usual’ and get on with cooking it! The same happened when we called in to get pizza delivered – they recognised our number and knew who it was and what we wanted. It was good, cheap food though and it was when I was finishing my degree and cooking was too much hassle!

I’d have shown the pizza guy the kitchen too, don’t worry! Psh, I wouldn’t worry- tell yourself it’s them remembering well, rather than you going there a lot!! xx

  • http://nadinestevens.blogspot.co.uk Nadine

Haha I had the same thing happen with dominoes! They actually answered the phone with “Hello Nadine!” and asked if I wanted “the usual” as well, I was mortified!

With my ex, we had a routine of ordering pizza on a Wednesday. On phoning the pizza joint one time, he gave the address, and the guy on the phone instantly knew our whole order. Awkward.

  • Trinda

Don’t worry Rosie! My partner and I are regulars at 2 places now, an ice cream place and a breakfast place. It’s kind of embarrassing when we go to order and they’re like, ‘oh! switching things up today, eh?’ I feel your pain haha
