1. doing crosswords in bed with jase. nerdy pastimes are still our thing ;)

2. halloumi. it just rocks, doesn’t it? oh and also, gnocchi. i’ve eaten a whole pack to myself over the past couple of days. carbs carbs carbs.

3. my new fig and berry candle. it smells delicious!

4. managing to find all the necessary paperwork i needed to renew my car tax disc with relative ease. anyone else play the ‘hunt down the v5 form’ game every six months?

5. ted’s super soft ears. he’s been extra cute this week :)

6. the ‘i don’t have to write any more essays’ feeling that still just keeps on washing over me. and yup, i’m still not done talking about having finished university! ;) also, being able to tell people i work from home has felt pretty great this week!

7. the smell of jason’s new deodorant. also, how weird is it when your partner changes their deo/aftershave after years and years of wearing the same one!?

8. going on dog walks with my sister. i can’t believe how grown up she is these days. hearing all about her school and classmates makes me feel old!

9. spring showers. the smell of rain is the best.

10. late night baking. banana cake at half past ten? why not!

what’s made you happy this week? :)

left// i finally fulfilled a life ambition the other day, and had tea in one of the rooftop terraces in covent garden! right// i love that drooly little man of ours :)

left// can’t get enough of those wagamamas green juices. right// i like to watch the espresso bubble up into the top of the pot.

left// we walk past these lilacs most days on our way to the woods. the scent stops me in my tracks every time. right// left over batter led to individual banana cakes. yum!

left// new favourite breakfast: berry porridge and fresh coffee. right// another beautiful spot we found in the bluebell woods.

left// doesn’t this look like a scene from a twilight movie? right// it was a baggy jumper and latte kinda afternoon.

left// i love him so much. right// they’re hard to spot, but jason and teddy are walking off into the dusk in this photo.
left// gnocchi in a cheddar bechamel sauce with stilton and apple, a.k.a. the world’s most unnecessarily fancy lunch. right// i always look for four leafed clovers, but never manage to find any. maybe one day…

you know that scene in the devil wears prada, where a designer suggests a collection of florals for a spring fashion campaign, and miranda priestly replies ‘florals? for spring? groundbreaking.’?
well, that was going over and over in my head whilst i put together this post. but who cares if florals and pink nail polish in springtime are a cliche, there’s a complete necessity!

my current favourite shade is essie ‘lovie dovie’. it’s the truest, most feminine pink i’ve ever come across, and i can’t stop wearing it. oh, and in true essie-style it applies like a dream as well. god bless those super-wide brushes!

▾ favourite way to wear pink nail polish? to soften up a mostly-black outfit

will you be wearing pink polish this summer?

Below: We’ve been trying out Kopi coffee recently. This blend is wonderful- rich and smoky. I especially like it over ice.

Below: We’ve been on a couple of lovely walks this weekend. Ted’s been learning to walk nicely to heel on and off the lead. We’ve still got some work to do…

Below: We watched a rabbit dart down this rabbit hole!
Below: How crazy handsome is he?
Below: I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many strawberries in one place!
