the loveliest light summer lunch.

golden feather bracelet.

the theory and trends behind food photography- such an interesting read!

i’m still on the hunt for the perfect longer length skirt. this one is just beautiful, don’t you think?

the sweetest post about cherry blossom.

to any fellow almost-graduates- this quote is making a lot of sense to me right now.

i need this tee shirt. oh yes i do.

also, this platter, for serving delicious salads on all summer.

how to make virgin mojitos. i love real mojitos, but always wish i could drink them back to back without feeling dreadful, so this rum-less version looks like the perfect alternative.

animals with cuddly toys. the sweetest thing.

before i really get started on the more photogenic parts of our weekend, here’s a little list of the moments that are not pictured. i just wouldn’t like you to think that it’s all sunshine and flowers in the ciderwithrosie-household, you know? ;)…
- there’s no picture of me locking all three of us out of the house on saturday morning. we were getting into the car ready to go out for a walk, when i decided to pop back into the house for my sunglasses. i ran in and left the keys on the stairs whilst i went upstairs to find my glasses. as i shut the front door behind me on the way back out, i’m sure i did one of those slow-motion, movie-style ‘noooooo’ cries as i realised the keys were still on the stairs. so with a very excitable dog, an unlocked but unmoveable car, and a phone on its last three percent of battery power, we made a desperate phonecall to solider joe to ask him to bring us over our spare key. it just wasn’t the best way to start a weekend, you know?
- there’s no picture of the foundation i dropped all over my favourite fresh-out-of-the-wash pair of jeans, just before we left the house on sunday morning.
- jason washed those marks out for me, but they were quickly replaced by mud splatters after teddy splashed his way through a particularly deep puddle whilst out walking. there’s no picture of those, either.
- and lastly, there’s no picture of the dark bags under our eyes, because we’re both exhausted and that dog of ours just hasn’t learnt the meaning of weekend lie-ins yet. but even when teddy wakes us up at seven i can’t help but be grateful for that little man of ours, having heard of the sudden death of the lovely fleur’s sweet dog woof this weekend. my heart goes out to her and her little family, and i’ve been making sure to appreciate and hold mine extra close all weekend.
so here are a few photos of the loveliest parts of saturday and sunday, if you’d like to see :)

below: we had cheese sandwiches quite a bit this weekend, because i realised that i’d managed to buy five different types of cheese during my last food shop. five! we’re on a mission now to eat it all up before it goes off. thank goodness for calorie-busting dog walks.

below: i love that man of mine :)

below: the trees seem to have blossomed overnight around these parts, and it really is lovely. spring’s been so long coming, hasn’t it?

below: mum cooked another winning roast for us all on sunday night. she also sent us away with a two bunches of daffodils and a microwave, because sundays are for giving right?! :)

tell me, how was your weekend? :)

1. fish and chips for dinner. we ran out of food about a week ago, and so last night had to resort to a trip to the fish and chip shop for dinner. but honestly? i’m not complaining! ;)

2. spending the day at work with jase on tuesday. it’s lovely to see what he gets up to all day, you know? :)

3. watching two geese check out the pond yesterday! they didn’t stay for long, but i’ve got my fingers crossed they move in for the summer :) imagine how sweet it would be to watch little goslings pottering around our pond!?

4. game of thrones being back on the telly. it’s just so brilliant, isn’t it?

5. reaching the halfway point of my dissertation! i’m not sure whether to feel relieved by how much i’ve got done, or terrified knowing i’ve got to write the same amount all over again!

6. lemsip. it’s made my cold all but disappear before it could really take hold, and i’m pretty grateful for that!

7. watching teddy chase feathers in the garden. i shook a feather pillow outside a week or so ago, and the loose feathers have been entertaining ted ever since!

8. brightly coloured, stripy tee shirts from gap. wearing them has made me feel happy and summery, even when the weather’s been grey.

9. sleeping in late in the morning. by late, i mean 8am, but that still counts as a lie-in right?!

10. jason and teddy. the always make me happy, but this week i’ve felt extra in love with my little family :)

tell me, what’s made you happy this week? :)
