Our weekend, as told by my camera roll…

before i really get started on the more photogenic parts of our weekend, here’s a little list of the moments that are not pictured. i just wouldn’t like you to think that it’s all sunshine and flowers in the ciderwithrosie-household, you know? ;)…
- there’s no picture of me locking all three of us out of the house on saturday morning. we were getting into the car ready to go out for a walk, when i decided to pop back into the house for my sunglasses. i ran in and left the keys on the stairs whilst i went upstairs to find my glasses. as i shut the front door behind me on the way back out, i’m sure i did one of those slow-motion, movie-style ‘noooooo’ cries as i realised the keys were still on the stairs. so with a very excitable dog, an unlocked but unmoveable car, and a phone on its last three percent of battery power, we made a desperate phonecall to solider joe to ask him to bring us over our spare key. it just wasn’t the best way to start a weekend, you know?
- there’s no picture of the foundation i dropped all over my favourite fresh-out-of-the-wash pair of jeans, just before we left the house on sunday morning.
- jason washed those marks out for me, but they were quickly replaced by mud splatters after teddy splashed his way through a particularly deep puddle whilst out walking. there’s no picture of those, either.
- and lastly, there’s no picture of the dark bags under our eyes, because we’re both exhausted and that dog of ours just hasn’t learnt the meaning of weekend lie-ins yet. but even when teddy wakes us up at seven i can’t help but be grateful for that little man of ours, having heard of the sudden death of the lovely fleur’s sweet dog woof this weekend. my heart goes out to her and her little family, and i’ve been making sure to appreciate and hold mine extra close all weekend.
so here are a few photos of the loveliest parts of saturday and sunday, if you’d like to see :)

below: we had cheese sandwiches quite a bit this weekend, because i realised that i’d managed to buy five different types of cheese during my last food shop. five! we’re on a mission now to eat it all up before it goes off. thank goodness for calorie-busting dog walks.

below: i love that man of mine :)

below: the trees seem to have blossomed overnight around these parts, and it really is lovely. spring’s been so long coming, hasn’t it?

below: mum cooked another winning roast for us all on sunday night. she also sent us away with a two bunches of daffodils and a microwave, because sundays are for giving right?! :)

tell me, how was your weekend? :)

    I love this post :)
Sorry to hear about the unfortunate start to the weekend, but we all do those things! I was on my way to London and just as I was about to leave the house Mum asked me whether I had my student travel card, so naturally I checked in my purse – and I did. The only problem was that by the time mum had driven me to the train station on her way to work I noticed I hadn’t put my purse back in my bag! I also couldn’t go home to collect it because I brought my Uni accommodation key rather than my house key! Definitely inconvenient, but not the end of the world, and it’s great to laugh at later!
Your photos are getting more and more beautiful!

I usually lock my keys inside my car and have to wait patiently for roadside rescue to arrive! Much worse than leaving them in the house!

    Lovely pictures.

This is a great post! I locked my dog and keys inside the house last weekend. Apparently shouting ‘Rory, let the latch off’ doesn’t work with dogs.

Great pictures, Teddy looks so happy! :)

What a lovely weekend!! I know all about being locked out!! About a month or two ago I somehow got locked out of my bedroom and my room is the only room in the whole entire house that we have never found the key for! Thank goodness for locksmiths! :)

Oh I’m sorry, but I had to laugh at you locking you all out of the house. Totally the sort of thing I’ve done on a regular basis. The best one was leaving my keys in the locked back door- and the only spare I had access to was a back door key which wouldn’t work because there was already a key in the lock. GAH. I also love your tea cup, and the fact you bought five types of cheese. My kind of woman!!! xx

Your pictures are beautiful and I loved that you included all the not so great things that happened too! Buying five types of cheese sounds like the sort of thing I would do at the supermarket too…..gotta love cheese. x
