last week i found this article (or rather, text on a rather jazzy background!;) about the stock personality types of first, middle, last borns, and only children.
jason and i were both kind of spooked by how accurately the descriptions sum up our personalities! i’m kind of embarrassed to realise how many of the not so nice ‘first born’ personality traits i recognise in myself…picky? yup! control freak? maybe just a little. likes to take charge? uhhh….! maybe i need to get to work correcting some of those things! the article does seem rather down on first borns though, don’t you think? we’re not so bad!
isn’t it an interesting article? do you fit into your ‘stock’ personality type? :)

so, this morning i’m off to submit my last ever batch of essays!
it’s so satisfying to hold in my hand such tangible proof of five weeks of hard work, and know that there’s nothing for me to do now but send these words on their way.

i spent the weekend in that familiar, pre-submission day state of stress- waking up having sudden panic attacks that i’ve accidentally misread the essay questions, convincing myself that i’ve misspelt an author’s name throughout the essay, and being terrified to shut down the documents on my computer in case they get sucked into a black hole and disappear.
but fingers crossed, touch wood, everything seems to be a-okay :)
i’m spending this afternoon having tea with my sweet friend jade (one of the wonderful people who’ve made university worth sticking out) and then am off to mum’s for supper this evening. i’m hoping my sister remembers to bring me her copy of twilight, because i want my post-university trashy book readathon to start as soon as possible!
how was your weekend? :)

1. being able to sit outside  every day this week, finishing up the last of my university work in the sunshine :) the garden is ted’s favourite place ever, so i’ve been able to get so much work done whilst he amuses himself playing with the mud/fountain/leaves!

2. seeing the fallen blossom dancing about in the wind outside our house.

3. knowing that after this week i will never, ever have to use the mhra referencing system again in my whole life!

4. fresh summer salads: last night’s was gammon, cucumber and pea shoots, with lovely chewy tiger bread to mop up left over vinaigrette :)

5. opening up all the windows, and feeling a fresh breeze blow through the house.

6. sitting with my feet in the lake the other morning, whilst teddy swam round and round and attempted to catch a duck. it was blissful.

7. kind of getting to grips with blowdrying my hair properly, instead of just a no-effort rough dry like i always used to do. does this mean i’m turning into a grown up?! ;)

8. playing throw and catch with jason and ted in the garden last night. it was fun, until jason’s competitive side took over and he started throwing the tennis ball at me, instead of to me. what is it with boys..?! :)

9.watching the ‘great bear stakeout’ last night! did you know the alaskan grizzly bears like to sit and watch the sunrise and sunset? how beautiful is that?!

10. making smoothies for breakfast. frozen berries, banana, natural yoghurt and honey is my favourite at the moment :)

what’s made you happy this week?

is there anything more happy-making than branches of fluffy pink blossom against blue skies? right now, i’m certain there isn’t.
last summer was a washout and i was ill over christmas and winter went on far too long, but spring? spring’s looking pretty good to me, so far.

happy thursday, everyone!
