when jason and i first told family and friends that we were planning to get a puppy, the vast majority of of people said the same things…
‘you’re mad!’
‘puppies are so much work…’
‘you do realise you’ll have to walk it every day right?’
puppies are a huge commitment, you’ll be so tied down!’
…
we knew that these things were only said out of concern for us, but the negativity very nearly put us clean off the idea! why don’t people ever tell you about the absolute unbridled joy and loveliness that a pup can bring to your lives? :)
for example, on sunday jason and i took ted up to the lake, and met up my godparents and their handsome dog freddy. the weather was glorious- crisp and bright, and all the colours looked extra vibrant. we walked a good long way round the lake (though ted’s little legs aren’t up to a full lap yet!) and then sat down at the little outdoor cafe for coffee (for the ‘grown ups’!) and hot chocolate (for me!;)
it was a perfect autumnal day, all rosy cheeks and muddy paws and bundling up in layers. that’s what having a dog is all about, and it beats the early starts, standing in the cold waiting for ted to ‘do his business’, and having to vacuum on a daily basis hands down, every.single.time.
