i know that technically i’m a day early with this post, but it feels like my week ends today because at 10pm this evening (after our last performance of our play) i’ll be done with university until september! i’m happy and sad all at the same time- after show blues are always such a killer! so here are 10 happy things on my pretend friday…

1. blowing bubbles in the garden yesterday with university friends!

2. waking up to find alfie curled up by my feet in bed.

3. having a month off between university finishing and starting work full time. i’m praying that the nice weather stays through june!

4. hearing noises from the duckhouse on the pond, and hoping that there is a mama duck on a nest inside.

5. icecream

6. running around campus barefoot.

7. my summer holiday with jason finally being booked! crete, here we come!

8. photographs.

9. my family, as always.

10. putting these words into practise, and noticing the benefits.

there are so many delightful things coming up in the next week or so! here is a little list of a few things i’m looking forward to…
jubilee celebrations over the weekend, including bbqs, a cocktail night, some lovely old fashioned british patriotism and lots of time spent with aunties uncles cousins godparents siblings mama best friends and of course, my jason!
finally performing the play i have been rehearsing since february at university tonight…the butterflies are beginning to flutter in my tummy already!
a shopping trip for some new bikinis and a swimsuit in preparation for our holiday!
dates already booked into my diary for meeting up with friends in june.
and finally speaking of june, we are celebrating my lovely friend jo’s 21st birthday on the 19th! i’ve been stressing endlessly about what to buy her, and finally have it down to two options…:)

this evening, jason and i had a strawberry picnic by the pond in front of our house! i popped into the supermarket on my way home from work looking for some lovely english strawberries, and ended up buying these sweet sundae bowls as well! i bought two in each colour and am really super pleased with  how bright and sunshiney they are :)

the strawberries were so ripe that we didn’t even need to dip them in the bowl of sugar we brought out with us (but it didn’t go to waste, because i dipped my finger in it instead!)
the perfect berry!

it was so lovely to spend some quality time with jason this evening. what with juggling work,  rehearsals and time spent with both our families it feels that we’ve barely have any ‘us’ time recently. it seems a strange thing to say, since we live together, but i really do miss him! sitting together in this lovely spot this evening felt pretty idyllic though, and it made me happy :)

…it’s so beautiful. i’ve been looking everywhere for the perfect full skirt, and this one ticks every box for me. i love the combination of the modern graphic print (it really reminds me of kaleidoscope patterns) and the elegant, timeless shape. it’s a shame it costs far more than i could possibly stretch to at the moment, but i’m going to use it as inspiration and keeping looking for a more affordable alternative on the high street :)
